With the enthusiasm of Chinese enterprises to go out, the exhibition industry has ushered in a new wave of “going overseas”.

A few days ago, Global Expo signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Ali International to jointly carry out overseas conference and exhibition cooperation. The two sides plan to build an overseas exhibition business platform to serve enterprises' high-quality “going out”, and join hands with exhibition organizers and professional exhibition companies to build a vertical registration portal for foreign trade enterprises to participate in exhibitions.

Both parties will rely on Alibaba Group's global network resource advantages and its huge membership advantages in international trade to empower the organizers of overseas exhibitions and provide support for the exhibitions in various dimensions, such as market promotion, business travel on the ground, and invitation of exhibitors and professional buyers.

Mr. Lu Cheng, the person in charge of GLOBAL EXPO, said that at present, in the case of few overseas exhibition projects led by Chinese exhibition enterprises, the theme of exhibitions is single and most of them are mainly comprehensive exhibitions, and “going out” of brand exhibitions and exhibition organizations is an inevitable way for China's exhibition industry to move forward from a large exhibition country to a strong exhibition country.

In addition, he also said that in addition to regular exhibitions in Europe and the United States, the overseas exhibition projects of the two partners will focus on the layout of the “Belt and Road” along the line and the BRIC countries and regions, helping enterprises to explore more business opportunities in emerging markets.

Founded in 2004, Global Expo is an excellent service organization in China's business field. Its predecessor is the operating organization of International Exhibition Weekly of International Business Newspaper of the Ministry of Commerce, and now it has developed into an integrated media platform in the field of service trade. With more than 500,000 users (fans) and rich resources and experience in organizing exhibitions, Global Expo is the organizer of a number of exhibitions, such as Global Cross-border E-commerce Conference, Global Internet Economy Conference, China Rural E-commerce Supply Chain Expo, etc., and also has the experience of serving a number of national-level brand exhibition projects.

It is worth mentioning that TWE has planned and organized two “Seminar on New Ideas of Overseas Exhibition Organizing” in Beijing in 2006 and 2007. At that time, the conference pointed out that although China's conference and exhibition industry has developed rapidly in recent years, China's conference and exhibition industry is far from really “going out” when it comes to overseas exhibitions, and it mainly focuses on acting as an agent for overseas exhibition projects and organizing groups of enterprises to participate in exhibitions.

Yao Wang, vice president of European and American Alumni Association and former director of Boao Forum for Asia, said at the seminar that the conference and exhibition industry is an important bridge and booster for China's strategy of “going out”. Encouraging Chinese enterprises to expand the scale and number of overseas exhibitions and accelerating the internationalization of China's conference and exhibition industry is one of the indispensable and important means to enhance the international image, expand the space for cooperation, strengthen the international network, open up the international market and realize the win-win situation between China and the world.

The cooperation between TWE and Ali International will not only bring new ideas and modes for Chinese exhibition enterprises to expand the international market, but also effectively help Chinese exhibition enterprises and exhibition brands to “go to sea” and promote the high-quality and internationalized development of the exhibition industry.
