The advantages of smart wharf of deep water port and the "conversion of some containers from land to water" in the Yangtze River Delta region are the main reasons for the increase of container volume at Yangshan Port.

Relevant imported goods from foreign ports can go through import release formalities at Yangshan Port, and be transferred to foreign ports by special barge before direct departure; Export goods in foreign ports after the customs clearance procedures, the special barge from the local port to yangshan port, can also be directly aboard ocean cargo ship departure. This mode solves the problems of customs declaration and second arrival of goods at one action, realizing "one declaration, one inspection and one release" for import and export goods.


From the opening of the first "joint discharge" between Yangshan and Taicang ports on November 3 last year to the end of last year, the business between the two ports under this new model reached 94,000 teU. This year, the port of Wuhu in Anhui province joined in. Anhui export enterprises said that under the new supervision mode, the logistics time can be shortened by nearly half compared with the past, and after the land transportation is changed to the water transportation, the logistics cost of each teus decreases by about 400 yuan.


It is reported that Yangshan Customs will extend the "joint discharge" to jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces in batches, and go upstream to the Yangtze River Economic Zone gradually.
