PARIS, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- France will cooperate with the United Arab Emirates to build an artificial intelligence park, said a press release issued by the French presidential palace, the Élysée Palace, on the evening of Feb. 6 (Reporter Luo Yu). This park will be located in France, the power consumption of the data center in the park will reach 1 GW.


The communiqué said that French President Emmanuel Macron and visiting UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended the signing ceremony of the Framework Agreement on Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence between France and the UAE on the evening of the 6th. As part of the agreement, the first investments in the AI park project will be announced at the 8th “Choose France” International Business Summit in May.

According to French media, this is an AI investment project to be announced ahead of the upcoming AI Action Summit in Paris. The scale of investment in the park could reach 30 billion to 50 billion euros. According to the report, 35 sites covering a total of about 1,200 hectares in France are ready for the construction of new data centers.


The Artificial Intelligence Action Summit will be held on February 10-11 in Paris. Heads of state and government of many countries around the world, as well as heads of international organizations, representatives of enterprises and research institutions will go to the meeting in order to further deepen global cooperation on AI governance.
