China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (SINOPEC) is one of the key exhibitors at Chain Expo. As a leading hydrogen energy company, SINOPEC is actively building China's first hydrogen energy company, and has gradually established a whole industrial chain covering “production, storage, transportation, utilization, research and development”. In order to display its characteristics, highlights and innovative technology level in the 2nd China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo (hereinafter referred to as the Expo), SINOPEC temporarily decided to display the liquid-driven hydrogen compressor (hereinafter referred to as the Compressor), which has the largest displacement in China. This product has never been displayed in any exhibition, and once it is successfully shown in the Chain Expo, it is bound to bring more attention to the enterprise and the Chain Expo.
The compressor to be lifted off the lid at the Chain Expo is 12 meters long, 4 meters wide, 3.06 meters high and weighs 35 tons. The prerequisite for this behemoth to enter the pavilion of the 2nd Chain Expo is that there must be no obstruction around it before the crane can be operated to drop it. Sinopec's booth was in the deepest part of Hall W3 of the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Pavilion), so it had to be the first to enter Hall W3. If Sinopec could not enter Hall W3 in time, all other materials of the clean energy chain would be delayed for one day, and other exhibitors in Hall W3 would not be able to start their construction work on time, which would definitely affect all kinds of subsequent operations and exhibition arrangements.
After getting the information about the compressor before the opening of the 2nd Chain Expo, the Clean Energy Chain team coordinated with all the parties to ensure that the exhibits of this “first show” would enter the hall in time.
On November 11, 2024, the Clean Energy Chain team coordinated with Sinopec's departments and China International Exhibition Transportation Co., Ltd (CIET) to hold a 19-member online communication meeting, which determined the basic information of the exhibits and the time points, and optimized the routes to Beijing and to the pavilion. According to the optimal entry plan of CZM, the behemoth should arrive at the exhibition hall on the night of November 17th or the early morning of November 18th, 2024, which is the best time for the exhibit to enter the exhibition hall. According to the backward time, the optimal starting time for the exhibits should be November 15, 2024 evening.
However, despite the fact that the compressor production unit worked overtime to catch up with the work, it was not possible to start the transportation on November 15, which meant that the optimal time for starting the transportation was missed, resulting in a tighter transportation schedule. At the same time, the weather conditions along the transportation route to Beijing were not optimistic, and foggy conditions cast a shadow over the transportation of exhibits.
Under the unfavorable situation of various external factors, the Clean Energy Chain team communicated with all parties again to plan for a better transportation plan, and strongly suggested that the transportation vehicles should be equipped with two drivers, and adopted the tactic of “people stopping, vehicles not stopping” to rush the time and grab the progress. At the same time, the team coordinated with the exhibition hall and the transportation party to make preparations for the exhibits to enter the hall in advance in the early morning of November 18, and coordinated with the colleagues of China Exhibition Transportation to enter the hall and start the lifting operation at the first time.
In the apprehension and uneasiness, a transport battle without retreat was fought: on November 16, 2024, good news finally came from Wuhan factory that the exhibits began to be loaded.
At 22:30 on November 16th, the transportation vehicles departed. Ditch Clean Energy Chain Team Pass group kept broadcasting the weather conditions along the route.
At 9:30 on November 17, the transportation vehicle arrived at Xinxiang, Henan Province.
At 16:00 pm on November 17, the transport vehicle arrived at Hengshui, Hebei Province, only 300 kilometers away from Beijing.
At 20:00 p.m. on November 17, the vehicle entered a service area on the outskirts of Beijing, waiting to enter Beijing.
At 4:00 a.m. on November 18, the transport vehicles arrived at the periphery of the exhibition hall and reached the entrance of the hall through the green channel. At 5:00 a.m., CZM deployed 2 sets of 70-ton cranes to start the lifting operation, and finally completed the exhibits falling into place at 6:30 a.m..
With the joint efforts of all parties, this behemoth came from Wuhan to the site of the 2nd Chain Expo after 3 days and crossing 1,200 kilometers.
As the first heavyweight exhibit in this year's Chain Expo, this compressor “occupies” the C position in the clean energy chain, becoming the focus of all professional media in the Chain Expo, and attracting the attention of many professionals at home and abroad. The successful display of this exhibit is a microcosm of the successful holding of the entire Chain Expo, which not only reflects the latest style of “Chain Expo People” and “Zhongzhan People”, but also adds a new footnote to the enterprise culture of Zhongzhan.
