The cuban flag is rectangular, with a 2:1 ratio of length to width. The left side of the flag is a red equilateral triangle with a white pentacle inside. The right side of the flag consists of three blue stripes and two white stripes parallel and connected. The pentacle represents cuba as an independent people. The triangle and star is the symbol of Cuba's secret revolutionary organization, symbolizing freedom, equality, fraternity and the blood of patriots. The pentacle also represents Cuba as an independent people. The three broad blue bars represent the three parts of cuba when it was formed, and the white bars represent the pure ideals of the cuban people.
